The 2010 Census data is beginning to filter out of the US Census Bureau. We all know that the cities in the So. Valley have grown, but looking at a 10 year comparison it is staggering to see the actual amount and the remarkable impact this growth has had on our community. The area as a whole has grown in population by approximately 320%, the stand out is Herriman City with 1330% growth, a town of 1523 people now boasts 21785. The city of So. Jordan also topped the list at an 86% increase in household population.

No doubt we all have experienced both the pain and pleasure of this growth. While we may complain about the road construction and the detours these improvements cause, those of us who have been here already know how great the So. Valley is to live. There will be no stopping the continued expansion of our daytime population or the number of rooftops and while the current economic slowdown has delayed some projects the So. Valley still is and will continue to be a prime destination for new families and businesses.

We are often asked as Real Estate Professionals questions about areas in Salt Lake County by families relocating to Utah or just looking to move up to a more attractive family friendly communities. The So. Valley Cities are an easy choice when you just look at the basics. A few of our favorite points always include the dedicated open spaces. Whether you are talking about the amazing walkability of Daybreak in So. Jordan or the miles and miles of walking paths in many of the cities, the fabulous Jordan River Parkway or the horse trails throughout Herriman and Bluffdale. In our research for this article we were amazed to count a combined total of 114 parks in our cities. Some of the largest investments have been made in the JL Sorensen Rec Center with an unbelievable 110,000 sqft. facility totaling over 24 million dollars or the Trax line stopping in Daybreak. And last but not lease the incredible undertaking of the Mountain View Corridor Highway.

We are proud to live in and serve our friends, family and community members across the entire So. Valley. We are looking forward to another 10 great years of sharing in the experience and growth of our neighborhoods and towns.
